Since 1917, Correntoso has been a living part of Patagonian history. It began as a small inn by the river, a refuge for pioneers and fly fishermen, and a meeting point for those who found in this majestic landscape something more than a destination: a way of life.

The Pioneer Spirit

The vision of Primo and Francisco Capraro gave rise to a tradition of hospitality that united nature, work, and community. In its early years, the hotel was a must-stop for adventurers, naturalists, and travelers crossing the Andes, and soon became a regional landmark.

Renew without forgetting

At the beginning of the 21st century, the Laurence family took on the task of restoring the historic building, recovering its heritage value while projecting its future with respect and coherence. As Alex Laurence wrote on the hotel’s 100th anniversary, “honoring Correntoso’s history means looking forward, providing lasting answers to new times.”

A legacy in motion

Today, Correntoso keeps its founding essence alive: integrating nature, history, and hospitality with a contemporary vision. Every generation that becomes part of Correntoso—guests, collaborators, and local families—contributes to a shared story that continues to grow on the shores of Nahuel Huapi.
